DITAworks is a component content management system (CCMS) for enterprise-level technical documentation management. It is based on the DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) standard, which is used for structured, topic-based authoring and content reuse..{{Cite web |title=The G2 on DITAworks Webtop |url=https://www.g2.com/products/ditaworks-webtop/reviews |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20200506075739/https://www.g2.com/products/ditaworks-webtop/reviews |archive-date=2020-05-06 |access-date=2025-01-23 |website=G2}} DITAworks uses multiple processors to handle different publishing requirements:
- DITA Open Toolkit covers the majority of DITA documents for which publication speed isn’t the first priority.
- Secondary processors are optimized for faster publication of materials, processing materials in under a second.
Functionality
DITAworks software has different functional scopes, such as:
- Maintains links integrity between reusable content objects, even when content is relocated within the system.
- Supports various reusable components, including maps, topics, and metadata.
- Includes a drag-and-drop functionality within the map editing menu, allowing users to modify map structures without the need to switch to separate tabs.
- Allows users to create tags for product-related topics and maps to facilitate organization and search.
- Supports simultaneous collaboration of multiple users working on the same root content{{Cite web |title=DITAworks Webtop |url=https://www.instinctools.com/dita-technical-documentation/ |access-date=2025-01-23 |website=*instinctools |language=en-US}}
