Deepak Bajracharya (born: May 2; नेपालीः {{lang|ne|दीपक बज्राचार्य}}) is a Nepali singer, music composer, lyricist, and guitarist. He is known for his significant contributions to the field of modern Nepali pop and fusion music. He has created a new genre by blending cultural originality into modern Nepali pop music. Throughout his decades-long musical journey, he has contributed to connecting modern music with Nepali authenticity, helping to attract the younger generation to traditional tunes.

Early Life

Deepak Bajracharya was born in Lalitpur, Nepal. Due to his interest in music from a young age, he stepped into the Nepali music industry during his teenage years. He began his musical journey in the 1990s, a time when Nepali pop and rock music were in their early stages of development. Even in the early phase of his music career, he made a strong impression on audiences through his performances and innovation in music. Despite family pressure and societal views, he continued his pursuit of music and successfully established his identity in the field.

He has completed his Secondary education from Arniko Boarding School, Latlipur and higher education at Patan Multiple College in Lalitpur, Nepal.

Musical Journey and Career

In 1990, he began his musical journey as a member of the band Litulunz with the solo song "Chhodi Gayo Priye". His songs such as "Samjhi Baschu", "Kaali Kaali", "Mayalu", and "Jhyalbata" gained immense popularity among Nepali music lovers. These songs clearly reflect the balance between Western musical influences and traditional Nepali melodies in his singing style. His song "O Amira" brought him recognition at the international level. The song was filmed in various international locations and helped introduce Nepali music to the global stage.

His unique style is known as "World Music Fusion", which blends traditional Nepali instruments such as the madal and bansuri (flute) with modern musical arrangements. Bajracharya's live performances are known for their energy, and he has performed in various countries with the aim of representing Nepal on the international stages including India, the United States, Australia, and several European nations.
