=Safety Climate=
Dov Zohar is noted for his work on safety climate in organizational psychology. His 1980 paper in the Journal of Applied Psychology introduced a theoretical framework for safety climate and a measurement scale widely used in subsequent research. This research informed the creation of additional safety climate measurement tools, including versions for military applications{{Cite journal |last1=Zohar |first1=D. |last2=Luria |first2=G. |year=2004 |title=Climate as a Social-Cognitive Construction of Supervisory Safety Practices: Scripts as Proxy of Behavior Patterns |journal=Journal of Applied Psychology |volume=89 |issue=2 |pages=322–333 |doi=10.1037/0021-9010.89.2.322|pmid=15065978 }} and multilevel scales.
A central focus of Zohar’s research is leadership’s role in shaping safety climate. He introduced the Supervision-based Safety (SBS) intervention model, which emphasizes modifying leadership behaviors to enhance safety climate and improve safety outcomes. This model has been examined in diverse organizational contexts, where studies report its effectiveness in reducing workplace accidents.{{Cite journal |last=Zohar |first=Dov |year=2002 |title=The Effects of Leadership Dimensions, Safety Climate, and Assigned Priorities on Minor Injuries in Work Groups |journal=Journal of Organizational Behavior |volume=23 |issue=1 |pages=75–92 |doi=10.1002/job.130 |jstor=4093686 |url=http://www.jstor.org/stable/4093686}}
Zohar’s later research extends into broader organizational climate studies, advocating for the simultaneous examination of multiple climate facets—such as quality, security, and inclusion—due to their interconnectedness within organizations.{{Cite book |last=Zohar |first=D. |year=2003 |title=Safety climate: Conceptual and measurement issues |editor1-last=Quick |editor1-first=J. E. |pages=123–142 |publisher=American Psychological Association |doi=10.1037/10474-006|isbn=1-55798-927-3 }} His frameworks have been used both academically and in practice to examine how leadership and multiple climate dimensions interact to influence organizational outcomes.
