Francesca Musiani (1984) is an italian author and scholar of internet governance. She is research director at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), where she also holds the position of the director of the Internet and Society Center{{Cite web |title=Home |url=https://cis.cnrs.fr/en/ |access-date=2025-05-12 |website=Center for Internet and Society |language=en-GB}}. She holds a PhD in socio-economics of innovation, her dissertation research focused on features and implications of alternative peer-to-peer technologies{{Cite thesis |last=Musiani |first=Francesca |date=2012-10-15 |title=Nains sans géants : architecture décentralisée et services Internet |url=https://theses.fr/2012ENMP0043 |language=fr}}, which has been awarded by the French national regulatory body CNIL. After her dissertation, Musiani was a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University from 2012 - 2014.
