Honghai Li, also known as Hai, is the author of the TimeDoc MOOK series and the founder and producer of TimeDoc Documentary Film Production Co., Ltd. He is a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, and an alumnus of Harvard Business School's OPM program.

He has summited Mount Everest twice and holds two China Records. He served as the assistant director of the acclaimed TV series The Grand Mansion Gate. Hong Hai is also the inventor of several patented video processing technologies. He is the author of over ten books, including the TimeDoc MOOK series, Chinese at Harvard,{{Cite book |title=哈佛中国人 |isbn=9787508093574}} and Immigrants and the Sea.{{Cite book |title=移民与海札记 |isbn=978-7-5063-4302-2}} He is also the co-founder of the China Foundation for Rural Development, a lifetime member of the Society of Entrepreneurs & Ecology, and an executive director of the Committee 2005.
