J.L. Witterick (Jennifer or Jenny Witterick) is a Taiwanese-born Canadian author, investor, and entrepreneur. She is best known for her international bestseller My Mother’s Secret and her young adult dystopian novel You Can’t Take the Truth. A former president of a Toronto-based global investment firm, Witterick transitioned from finance to fiction in 2014 and has since written several works spanning historical fiction, dystopian literature, and children's literature.
Early Life and Education
Witterick was born in Taiwan. At the age of seven, she immigrated to Canada with her parents who came with $200 and a Chinese-English dictionary. She earned an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. Career in Finance
Witterick began her career in capital markets and eventually founded Sky Investment Counsel, where she served as President and Chief Investment Officer.
