JESWRI (pronounced jess-rye), born Jesse Wright in 1990, is a Gadigal artist of the Eora Nation best known for his large-scale murals, brand collaborations, and contributions to contemporary Aboriginal art in Australia. Based in Melbourne, JESWRI’s work combines graffiti, storytelling, pop culture references, and Indigenous symbolism across public art, digital platforms, and commercial campaigns.
Early life and education
Born in Sydney (Gadi), JESWRI is a proud member of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. He credits his mother, an art teacher, as a key influence in his early artistic development. Before becoming a full-time artist, JESWRI worked in advertising as a graphic designer and art director.
