Md. Sibgat Ullah is a senior Bangladeshi police officer and the current Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Bangladesh Police. He holds the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl. Early Life and Education
Md. Sibgat Ullah was born in Bangladesh and joined the Bangladesh Police through the Bangladesh Civil Service 15th (BCS) (Police) cadre in 1995.
Career
Md. He was appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) in several districts, including Pirojpur, Mymensingh, Narayanganj, and Feni. At the Police Headquarters, he served as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), UN Desk, overseeing peacekeeping deployment coordination. Career Challenges
Despite his eligibility and strong service record, Sibgat Ullah was reportedly deprived of promotion for nearly 15 years during the Awami League government’s tenure (2009–2024). Following the end of that political era, he rose to top leadership roles within the police force.
