Moshe Hod (born September 23, 1949) is an Israeli physician and researcher recognized for his contributions to maternal-fetal health, pregnancy complications management, prediction and prevention of future non-communicable diseases (NCD), particularly in the field of diabetes in pregnancy. A firm believer that "Women’s Health is a Nation’s Wealth," Professor Hod has dedicated his career to prioritizing and promoting women’s health.
He is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tel Aviv University and a Visiting Professor at the University of Florence.
Early Life and Education
Moshe Hod was born on September 23, 1949, in Russia and immigrated to Israel as a young child. His early childhood was spent at Rabin Medical Center, where his mother, Esther, was an internist. He attended the Military School, Reali School in Haifa, and graduated from Geula High School in Tel Aviv.
After completing his military service in Unit 8200, he pursued medicine. Hod received his medical education at the University of Padova, Italy (1971-1974), and the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (1974-1977), where he earned his M.D.
Career
Hod joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rabin Medical Center in 1979 and completed his residency in 1985.

Moshe Hod holds a leadership position as Chair of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) Femtech - New Technologies and Women's Health Committee. In this capacity, he contributes to the development of standards and the integration of technologies in women's healthcare. His involvement extends to advisory roles in medical and biotechnology startups focused on women's health, medical technologies, devices, and cannabinoid-based drugs.

Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board and Medical Director of Global Medical Networks (GMN), which develops technology for personal medical records access. He has also served as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Rosetta Genomics (NASDAQ: ROSG), a molecular diagnostics company.
