History

Southern Guild opened its first permanent gallery space in Woodstock, Cape Town in 2014, and moved to its current location at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in 2017.{{Cite web |last=Krynauw |first=Misha |date=14 June 2022 |title='Spring Awakening' at Southern Guild' |url=https://artthrob.co.za/2022/06/14/rot-and-rebirth-spring-awakening-at-southern-guild/ |website=Art Throb}} It was the first African gallery to be invited to showcase at Design Miami in 2011 and at Christie’s London’s annual design auction in 2015.
