Early Life and Background
Jonathan William Zorr Jr, professionally known as Spize, was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and raised in the suburb of Congo Town. In his early years, he was widely known as a talented soccer player, with many expecting him to pursue a professional career in football. However, his interests later shifted toward music, a passion he attributes to the influence of his late mother, who was an avid music enthusiast.
Spize’s musical journey began during his high school years, when he and his friends Boulevard and A-Nas began performing together under the name The Lonestar Legends. Though not a formal group, the trio sang under the shared name before going their separate ways in the years following the COVID-19 pandemic.
After this period, Spize gained recognition by releasing freestyle covers of popular songs, including JZyNo’s “Butter My Bread” and “Eyes on You”, Ayra Starr’s “Rush”, and Asake’s “Lonely at the Top”. These renditions, shared across digital platforms, helped him build an initial fan base and positioned him as a rising talent in Liberia's contemporary music scene.
