Subatra Robert is a Franco-Indian actress who has been predominantly working on Tamil-language films, known for her performance in several critically acclaimed films such as Vada Chennai (2018), Periyerum Perumal (2018), Karnan (2021) and Jai Bhim (2021). Apart from Tamil, she has also contributed as a theatre artist in French cinema.
Early Life and Education
Subatra Robert is a Franco-Indian actress currently based in Chennai, India. Originally from Pondicherry, Subatra moved to France at the age of 6. She completed her schooling in France from IFSI de La Croix Saint Simon{{cite web | url=https://www.croix-saint-simon.org/contacter-fondation | title=Contacter la Fondation }} and worked as a paramedical professional from nearly nine years.
In 2011, she returned to India and became actively involved in child welfare initiatives. Over the course of three years, she collaborated with various NGOs, focusing on supporting physically challenged children, as well as Irular and other tribal children and orphans.

Subatra remains actively engaged in theatre production. Her artistic journey also encompasses a deep commitment to traditional performing arts, having trained in various disciplines including improvisation, Kathakali, Therukoothu and the ancient martial art form of Kalaripayattu. Apart from Tamil and English she is proficient in French and is active in France theatre spaces.
