Career

After graduating, she worked as assistant director in Govind Nihalani's telefilms. She turned producer for a television show Janam Samjha Karo that she wrote for Star Plus, and Khan was supposed to direct. Personal life
Sikdar was pursuing her degree from the National School of Drama, New Delhi, in 1985 where she met her future husband Irrfan Khan.
