New article on Ankush Shinde IPS – Requesting feedback and improvements

Hi everyone,

I’ve created this draft article on Ankush Shinde, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Maharashtra, based on reliable news sources, government announcements, and public records. The article includes his career history, awards, anti-Naxalite operations, TEDx talk, and recent postings as Special Inspector General of Police (VIP Security).

I welcome feedback on:

- Improving neutrality and clarity

- Adding more citations or reliable sources

- Adding details about his tenure as SP Nashik or Raigad (if sources are available)

- Formatting or category improvements

Please feel free to edit, improve, or suggest changes!

Thanks! Abhisennin (talk) 10:22, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

:I have expanded the draft significantly to address the notability concerns:

:- Added multiple independent, secondary sources from The Indian Express, Times of India, Lokmat, Sakal, and other major outlets.

:- Included substantial coverage of Ankush Shinde’s notable roles: the anti-Naxal operations in Gadchiroli, the Disha juvenile reform program in Pimpri-Chinchwad, his Commissioner roles in Solapur, Nashik, and Pimpri, and major awards like the President’s Police Medal and Arun Bongirwar Award.

:- Clarified career details, including SP Raigad, SP Nashik Rural, DIG Gadchiroli, IG Prisons, and Commissioner positions.

:- Provided citations that are not mere mentions or transfers but highlight Shinde’s impact and leadership. Abhisennin (talk) 21:17, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Note to reviewers:

This draft now includes substantial coverage from national and regional sources in both English and Marathi, covering anti-Naxalite operations, juvenile crime reforms, awards, TEDx participation, and multiple Commissioner postings. It directly addresses the prior notability concerns.

I welcome a re-review. Thanks!

Reply to comment on the draft

Thank you, {{Ping|Theroadislong}} — I appreciate your note added as a comment on the draft. I understand the general caution around The Times of India. In this case, the TOI sources included cover substantial matters like anti-Naxalite operations, crime initiatives, and administrative actions — not appointments, promotional content or passing mentions.

Additionally, I’ve included multiple stronger sources (Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Lokmat, Sakal, etc.) to cover notability and achievements independently.

I’m happy to improve this further if you have suggestions for additional or preferred sources. Thanks again for your guidance! Abhisennin (talk) 14:47, 5 May 2025 (UTC)

Update on Draft:Ankush Shinde, IPS

Hello editors,

I have made a major update to the draft to address prior feedback and improve compliance with Wikipedia guidelines:

-Reformatted all citations to proper Wikipedia style with {{cite news}} / {{cite web}}

-Added reliable English and Marathi sources

-Inserted appropriate internal wiki links (e.g., Superintendent of Police, Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department)

-Adjusted the tone for neutrality and factual reporting

-Updated award details and confirmed coverage from independent sources

I believe the draft is now better aligned with notability and sourcing guidelines.

I welcome any further suggestions and thank you for your time! Abhisennin (talk) 15:30, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
