The Drina Formation ("Drina Formacija") is a stratigraphic unit in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.{{cite book|last1=Hrvatović|first1=Hazim|title=Geologic Guidebook through Bosnia and Hercegovina|date=2005|publisher=Geological Survey Sarajevo|location=Sarajevo|isbn=9789958935138}} It was deposited between the Cambrian and the Carboniferous onto Neoproterozoic basement.{{cite journal|last1=Jurković|first1=Ivan|title=Geology and Metallogeny of the Drina-Ivanjica Metamorphic Complex in Eastern Bosnia – Western Serbia|journal=Rudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik|date=2006|volume=18|url=http://hrcak.srce.hr/index.php?show=clanak&id_clanak_jezik=11015|accessdate=29 August 2014}} It is composed of clastic sediments, limestone and volcanic rocks.{{cite book|last1=(ed.)|first1=Jingwen Mao ; Frank P. Bierlein|title=Mineral deposit research: meeting the global challenge|date=2005|publisher=Springer|location=Berlin|isbn=978-3540279457|edition=1st}} The Drina Formation is conformably overlain by the Golja Formation.
The formation is part of the Drina Ivanjica Unit and was overprinted by the Variscan and Alpine Orogeny.
The oldest fossils are acritarch phytoplancton and spores, which indicate a Cambrian to Ordovician age. The youngest fossils are conodonts which indicate Viséan to Namurian age.
