The Drybrough Cup was a Scottish annual football tournament. It was held from 1971 until 1974, and was revived from 1979 to 1980. It was open to the four highest-scoring teams from Division 1, and the four highest-scoring teams from Division 2. The format allowed the tournament to have three rounds: first round, semi-final and final. The tournament was held in the week preceding the commencement of the league season.{{cite news |title=Drybrough Cup |url=http://sfha.org.uk/drybroughcup.htm |access-date=14 December 2021 |work=Scottish Football Historical Archive}}

The tournament was conceived because the Scottish Football Association would not permit existing competitions to have a title sponsor. The Drybrough brewery got around this regulation by inventing a new competition bearing their name.{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=__SwdvPyYN8C&q=drybrough+cup+-wiki&pg=PT67 |title=Having a Ball |author=Eddie Turnbull with Martin Hannan |date=29 June 2012 |publisher=Mainstream Publishing |isbn=9781780574684}}

In the 1972, 1973 and 1974 Drybrough Cups, an experimental version of the offside law was operated.{{cite web |url=http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/celtic/240624-how-the-scottish-fa-tried-to-revolutionise-the-offside-law/ |title=How the Scottish FA tried to revolutionise the offside law |first=Grant |last=Russell |work=www.sport.stv.tv |publisher=STV |date=1 April 2011 |access-date=13 December 2013 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20131213185058/http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/celtic/240624-how-the-scottish-fa-tried-to-revolutionise-the-offside-law/ |archive-date=13 December 2013}} In the 1979 final, Davie Cooper scored what is regarded by many Rangers fans as one of the best goals ever scored in an Old Firm match.{{cite news |url=http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/now-you-know-super-cooper-scored-great-keepy-up-goal.18917212 |title=NOW YOU KNOW: Super Cooper scored great 'keepy-up' goal |date=20 September 2012 |access-date=13 December 2013 |work=Evening Times |publisher=Herald & Times Group}}
