Dugald Carmichael (born 1772 in Stronacraoibh, Lismore Island, died 1827 in Appin{{Cite web|url=http://carmichaelwatson.blogspot.com/2009/10/captain-dugald-carmichael-fls.html|title = Carmichael Watson Project Blog: Captain Dugald Carmichael FLS|date = 30 October 2009}}) was a Scottish botanist and officer in the 72nd Highlanders. He is known as the "Father of Marine Botany".
