During the 1940s, oil from a nearby well was loaded onto tank cars at Dull and then shipped by rail.{{cite book | title = La Salle County | publisher = Arcadia | year = 2010 | url = https://books.google.com/books?id=fjnmHmt8wFEC&pg=PP1 | pages = 8| isbn = 9780738579382 }}
