Gameplay
In Dungelot, the player must choose a character from the character selection menu. All the characters except one are locked and must be unlocked by reaching certain levels in the game.{{cite web|url=http://www.slidetoplay.com/dungelot-review/|title=Dungelot Review - Slide to Play|website=Slide to Play|access-date=31 May 2015|archive-date=21 July 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150721151247/http://www.slidetoplay.com/dungelot-review/|url-status=live}} The chosen character will give the player a certain perk which can help the player in defeating each floor.{{cite web|url=http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/01/25/dungelot-review|title=Dungelot Review - IGN|date=25 January 2013|first1=Cody|last1=Musser|publisher=IGN|access-date=31 May 2015|archive-date=24 November 2014|archive-url=https://archive.today/20141124085220/http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/01/25/dungelot-review|url-status=live}} Once the player has chosen a character and is in the game they must click on the tiles to show what's underneath it.{{cite web|url=http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-24-dungelot-review|title=Dungelot Review|date=24 June 2013|first1=Rich|last1=Stanton|publisher=Eurogamer|access-date=31 May 2015|archive-date=6 January 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140106041153/http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-24-dungelot-review|url-status=live}} The battle system is turn-based, which means after the player attacks, the enemy will attack and vice versa. The attack the player does is based on how much attack power they have. The default across the characters is between 1 and 3. To continue to the next floor the player must kill the enemy that is holding the key. The key will then unlock the door to the next level (which must also be found).{{cite web|url=http://www.appspy.com/review/6705/dungelot|title=Dungelot Review on AppSpy|date=11 February 2013|first1=Dave|last1=Flodine|publisher=AppSpy|access-date=31 May 2015|archive-date=13 February 2019|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190213183759/http://www.appspy.com/review/6705/dungelot|url-status=live}} When the player dies they must restart from floor one.
