E Street station (formerly Bayfront/E Street station) is a station on the Blue Line of the San Diego Trolley in Chula Vista, California. The stop serves both as a commuter center with a park and ride lot and to provide access to the dense nearby retail area.

History

Bayfront/E Street station was the first infill station of the San Diego Trolley system, opening on the Blue Line in October 1986, five years after the line's inauguration in July 1981.{{cite web |url=https://www.sdmts.com/about-mts/history |title=History |publisher=San Diego Metropolitan Transit System |accessdate=April 9, 2020}} The station sits on the main line tracks of the San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway.

This station was renovated, starting January 3, 2014 as part of the Trolley Renewal Project; it reopened with a renovated station platform in October 2014.{{cite web|url=http://www.sdmts.com/documents/BayfrontEstreetConstruction11-25-13.pdf |title=Construction Advisory Trolley Station Closures and Detours Station Construction: Bayfront/E Street Street Station |publisher=San Diego Metropolitan Transit System |date=November 25, 2013 |accessdate=2013-12-29 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20131230234614/http://www.sdmts.com/documents/BayfrontEstreetConstruction11-25-13.pdf |archivedate=2013-12-30 }}{{cite web |url=http://www.sdmts.com/trolleyrenewal.asp |title=Trolley Renewal Project |publisher=San Diego Metropolitan Transit System |year=2013 |accessdate=2013-12-29}}{{cite web |url=http://www.icontact-archive.com/53tHymf7jTJXUv3npxWb9GmaOyI9tvjM?w=3 |title=Trolley Renewal Construction Advisory |publisher=San Diego Metropolitan Transit System |date=October 8, 2014 |accessdate=2015-08-07 |archive-date=2015-09-24 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150924032622/http://www.icontact-archive.com/53tHymf7jTJXUv3npxWb9GmaOyI9tvjM?w=3 |url-status=dead }}
