EasyEffects (formerly known as PulseEffects) is a free and open-source GTK application for Unix-like systems which provides a large array of audio effects and filters to apply to input and output audio streams.{{cite magazine |date=29 August 2017 |title=LFX Hot Picks - PulseEffects |page=52 |url=https://www.linuxformat.com/archives?issue=228 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200806152351/https://www.linuxformat.com/archives?issue=228 |archive-date=6 August 2020 |magazine=Linux Format |access-date=13 March 2019 |url-status=bot: unknown }}
The application originally used the Pulseaudio sound server as it allowed effects to be added to audio streams with ease,{{cite web |last=Morrison |first=Graham |url=http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2017/203/FOSSPicks/(offset)/3/(language)/eng-US |title=FOSSPicks - Page: 1.3 » Linux Magazine |website=Linux Magazine |year=2017 |access-date=19 March 2019 |language=Spanish |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190315085621/http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2017/203/FOSSPicks/(offset)/3/(language)/eng-US |archive-date=15 March 2019}} however, now runs exclusively on the PipeWire sound server after a port in 2021.{{cite web |title=Release 5.0.0 |url=https://github.com/wwmm/pulseeffects/releases/tag/v5.0.0 |website=GitHub |access-date=14 February 2021}}
It is published under the GPL-3.0-or-later license.
Overview
EasyEffects uses PipeWire to process incoming and outgoing audio streams independently and can apply various sound effects in the form of plug-ins made by different developer teams such as Calf Studio Gear, MDA.LV2 and GStreamer.{{cite web |last=López |first=Pablo |url=https://liberaturadio.org/pulseeffects-un-procesador-de-audio-para-tu-radio/ |title=PulseEffects un procesador de audio para tu radio |website=Liberaturadio |date=26 November 2018 |access-date=19 March 2019 |language=Spanish |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190319090120/https://liberaturadio.org/pulseeffects-un-procesador-de-audio-para-tu-radio/ |archive-date=19 March 2019}}{{cite web |last=Naranjo |first=David |url=https://www.linuxadictos.com/administra-los-efectos-de-sonido-de-pulseaudio-con-pulseeffects.html |title=Administra los efectos de sonido de PulseAudio con PulseEffects |website=Linux Adictos |date=25 June 2018 |access-date=19 March 2019 |language=Spanish |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190319090240/https://www.linuxadictos.com/administra-los-efectos-de-sonido-de-pulseaudio-con-pulseeffects.html |archive-date=19 March 2019}} All plugins have their own presets and can be applicable inside the suite rather than having to use a different mixer or executing a script from the command line.

Available input effects are WebRTC, limiter, compressor, filter, equalizer, de-esser, reverbation, pitch shift and spectrum analyzer.{{cite web |author=TANNHAUSSER |url=https://lamiradadelreplicante.com/2018/05/23/pulseeffects-avanzado-ecualizador-y-creador-de-efectos-de-audio/ |title=PulseEffects: avanzado ecualizador y creador de efectos de audio |website=La mirante del replicante |date=23 May 2018 |access-date=19 March 2019 |language=Spanish |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180731051817/https://lamiradadelreplicante.com/2018/05/23/pulseeffects-avanzado-ecualizador-y-creador-de-efectos-de-audio/ |archive-date=31 July 2018}}
