Echemoides is a genus of South American ground spiders that was first described by Cândido Firmino de Mello-Leitão in 1938.{{cite journal |last=Mello-Leitão |first=C. F. de |year=1938 |title=Algunas arañas nuevas de la Argentina |journal=Revista del Museo de la Plata |pages=89–118 |volume=1 |series=New Series}}{{clarify|reason=issue?|date=April 2021}} Originally placed with the ant spiders, it was moved to the ground spiders in 1993.
