Ed Manfield

Edward Adam Manfield (May 1, 1943 – March 29, 1999)U.S. Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007. Social Security Administration. was a professional American bridge player.{{OEB|5|685}} He was a member of the U.S. team that won the Rosenblum Cup at the 1986 World Bridge Championships, after taking silver in 1982.{{cite news|title=Edward A. Biography
Manfield was born in the Bronx, New York City, and graduated from Harvard University in 1965. After serving in the Army, he earned a master's degree from the University of Virginia in 1972. Manfield was employed at the Federal Trade Commission and later became the head of a company called Binary Traders Inc.
Manfield was married three times; his first two marriages, to Lynn Johannesen, and JoAnn Wellens (later Sprung), ended in divorce.Commonwealth of Virginia. Report of Divorce or Annulment. He later remarried and died in 1999 of a heart attack at his home in Philadelphia. He was survived by his wife Melanie, their two children, Seth Manfield, a champion Magic: the Gathering player,{{cite news | title = Sunday Afternoon 49er Pairs | publisher = American Contract Bridge League | url = http://web2.acbl.org/nabc/nydup/bulletinshtml/bull4p2.html | page = 1 | date = 2004-07-12 | access-date = 2016-05-24 }} and Sabrina, and his daughter from a previous marriage, Karen.
He was inducted into the ACBL Hall of Fame in 2003.
