Biography
Simeoni was born 6 August 1934 in Corte, Corsica.{{Cite book|last=Lavezzi|first=Ghjiseppu|title=Corse : Vertiges de l'honneur: L'Âme des Peuples|publisher=Nevicata|year=2018|isbn=978-2-512-01011-1|language=fr}} His father was Ferdinand Simeoni, who was the mayor of Lozzi. He grew up in Francardu and graduated at the Bastia High School. Simeoni relocated in Bastia and practiced medicine there for several years. He died on 14 December 2018 at Ajaccio, Corsica. Activism
Edmond and Max Simeoni participated in the elections during the 1960s without much success.{{Cite book|last=Watson|first=Michael|title=Contemporary Minority Nationalism|publisher=Routledge|year=2013|isbn=0415000653|location=Oxon|pages=90}} They then founded the Action Regionaliste Corse in 1967.{{Cite book|last=McGarry|first=John|title=Northern Ireland and the Divided World: Post-Agreement Northern Ireland in Comparative Perspective|last2=McGarry|first2=Professor of Political Studies and Canada Research Chair in Nationalism and Democracy John|publisher=Oxford University Press|year=2001|isbn=0-19-829633-9|location=Oxford|pages=244}} The organization was banned in 1973 but was revived as the Azzione per a Rinascita Corsa (Action for a Reborn Corsica, ARC). Two years later, the Simeoni brothers led a group of 50 ARC militants and took over a French wine depot in Aleria.
