Edward Timms (1937 in Windlesham, England – 21 November 2018 in Brighton, England) OBE, FBA was Research Professor and a former director of the Centre for German-Jewish Studies (which he founded in 1994) at the University of Sussex.[http://eurojewishstudies.org/scholar_shortdisplay.php?idscholar=627 European Association for Jewish studies - Edward Timms] His work mainly focused on Karl Kraus and Freud.{{Cite web |url=http://www.britac.ac.uk/fellowship/elections/2006/timms_e.html |title=The British Academy Fellowship |access-date=2008-02-16 |archive-url=https://archive.today/20120721043715/http://www.britac.ac.uk/fellowship/elections/2006/timms_e.html |archive-date=2012-07-21 |url-status=dead }} Timms was also a Life Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge[https://www.cai.cam.ac.uk/people/edward-timms Professor Edward Timms OBE FBA] His two-volume work Karl Kraus – Apocalyptic Satirist (1986 and 2005) is concerned with Kraus's satirical responses to Habsburg Vienna, his rejection of both the First World War and Nazism. He died on 21 November 2018 at the age of 81.
