History

Elddis was founded in 1965 by Siddle Cook and his son, Raymond, and is named for 'Siddle' spelt backwards.{{cite book |last=Jenkinson |first=Andrew |year=2002 |title=Caravans: The Illustrated History from 1960 |publisher=Veloce Publishing |pages=31–32 | url={{GBurl| D3ZN7344S7gC|p=31|q=Eddis}} |isbn=9781903706855}} They established a factory in Consett, County Durham, and in 1960, were manufacturing two popular models of caravan, Whirlwind and Tornado. A third model, Cyclone, was launched in the late 1960s.
