History

Prior to 1894 the town of Deniliquin was part of the district of The Murray which returned two members. Multi-member constituencies were abolished in the 1893 redistribution, resulting in the creation of 76 new districts, including Deniliquin.{{cite web |url=http://www.atlas.nsw.gov.au/public/nsw/home/topic/article/1893-redistribution.html |title=1893 Redistribution |work=Atlas of New South Wales |publisher=NSW Land & Property Information |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150623031719/http://www.atlas.nsw.gov.au/public/nsw/home/topic/article/1893-redistribution.html |archive-date=23 June 2015 |url-status=dead}} Deniliquin consisted of parts of The Murray, Balranald and The Murrunbidgee.{{cite news |url=https://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article222121035 |title=Maps and sketches of proposed Electoral Districts |newspaper=New South Wales Government Gazette |date=23 August 1893 |access-date=2020-10-24 |page=6696 |via=Trove}}{{cite news |url=https://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article222197006 |title=Proclamation: names and boundaries of electoral districts |newspaper=New South Wales Government Gazette |date=5 October 1893 |access-date=2020-10-24 |page=7790 |via=Trove}}

The district was abolished in 1913, with the majority of the district, including the town of Deniliquin being absorbed by The Murray and the eastern part being absorbed by Corowa.{{cite web |url=http://www.atlas.nsw.gov.au/public/nsw/home/topic/article/1912-redistribution.html |title=1912 Redistribution |work=Atlas of New South Wales |publisher=NSW Land & Property Information |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150623031821/http://www.atlas.nsw.gov.au/public/nsw/home/topic/article/1912-redistribution.html |archive-date=23 June 2015 |url-status=dead}}
