Elmayer dance school ({{langx|de|Tanzschule Elmayer}}) is a ballroom dance school in Vienna, Austria founded in 1919 by a former Austro-Hungarian Army officer Willy Elmayer von Vestenbrugg. It is considered one of the most prominent dance schools in the world{{citation needed|date=November 2018}} and its "Elmayer Kränzchen" hosts the record for largest ball opening in the world.{{citation needed|date=November 2018}} Students at Elmayer may also finish their courses with the official "Österreichische Tanzleistungsabzeichen" examination, which at higher levels grants students to hold their own dance classes.{{citation needed|date=November 2018}} It is currently headed by the founder's grandson, Thomas Schäfer-Elmayer.{{cite web | title=Waltz This Way | website=Washington Post | date=2004-03-07 | url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/travel/2004/03/07/waltz-this-way/7319e72b-b0fa-47b2-9ea9-49009a8f7ba8/ | access-date=2018-10-20}}{{cite web | title=Waltz this way | website=Financial Times | date=2008-03-14 | url=https://www.ft.com/content/81c61296-ee42-11dc-a5c1-0000779fd2ac | access-date=2018-10-20}}
