Reception

Donald Olson, writing for Frommer's, rated the venue as two out of three stars. He described the club as a primarily gay disco also appealing to straight people, with "lots of flashing lights and sweaty bodies until the early morning".{{Cite web|url=https://www.frommers.com/destinations/portland-or/nightlife/the-embers-avenue|title=The Embers Avenue in Portland OR - Nightlife {{!}} Frommer's|last=Olson|first=Donald|website=www.frommers.com|publisher=Frommers|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190417095033/https://www.frommers.com/destinations/portland-or/nightlife/the-embers-avenue|archive-date=April 17, 2019|access-date=2019-04-17|quote=Though primarily a gay disco, Embers is also popular with straights.
