End of Daze is the fourth EP by Dum Dum Girls, released September 25, 2012 by Sub Pop.{{cite web |url=http://www.subpop.com/releases/dum_dum_girls/eps/end_of_daze |work=Sub Pop Records |title=Dum Dum Girls: End of Daze |accessdate=18 September 2012 |publisher=Hardly Art Records |archive-date=27 March 2013 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130327085856/http://www.subpop.com/releases/dum_dum_girls/eps/end_of_daze |url-status=dead }} This was the third Dum Dum Girls recording produced by Richard Gottehrer and the Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner, and the fourth overall for Gottehrer.

Background

Three songs from the EP ("Mine Tonight", "I Got Nothing" and "Trees and Flowers") were originally recorded for 2011's Only in Dreams, but were put aside for being "too different" and "atmospheric".{{cite web |url=http://feastofbeast.com/post/26169696182/dum-dum-girls-i-dont-care-the-track-is-just |title=Dum Dum Girls - I don't care is just... |work=Feast of Beast |accessdate=18 September 2011}} These songs were intended to be used as B-sides; the cover of Strawberry Switchblade's "Trees and Flowers" was meant to accompany "Bedroom Eyes" on an unreleased 7" single.{{cite web |url=http://mixtapemaestro.net/2011/08/dum-dum-girls-bedroom-eyes.html |title=Dum Dum Girls - Bedroom Eyes |first=David Allun |last=Jones |work=Mixtape Maestro |date=18 September 2011 |accessdate=18 September 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20111011100410/http://mixtapemaestro.net/2011/08/dum-dum-girls-bedroom-eyes.html |archive-date=11 October 2011 |url-status=dead }} The remaining songs were recorded a year later in Chelsea, Manhattan.

"Lord Knows" was released as a single on July 31, 2012.{{cite web|url=https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/lord-knows-single/id542493825 |title=Dum Dum Girls - Lord Knows (Single) |website=iTunes |accessdate=31 August 2011 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20140416004113/https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/lord-knows-single/id542493825 |archivedate=16 April 2014 }}

Pitchfork awarded End of Daze its "Best New Music" designation, with a score of 8.3. In her review, Lindsay Zoladz wrote, "Garage rock is also a genre of quick burnouts, its best compilations scattered with one- or no-hit wonders whose most explosive fireworks burned bright for three minutes before vanishing altogether. So perhaps the most profound way that the Dum Dum Girls have transcended their influences is the simple fact that they've stuck around, pushed past their limits, and gotten that much better. End of Daze is their best release. Much more than a stop-gap between LPs, it's succinct but irrefutable proof that this band's dynamite has a long fuse."{{Cite web|url=https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/17084-end-of-daze-ep/|title = Dum Dum Girls: End of Daze EP|website = Pitchfork}}
