Eriaxis is a monotypic genus of orchids in the subfamily Vanilloideae. The sole species is Eriaxis rigida, endemic to New Caledonia.[https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/123696#page/64/mode/1up Reichenbach, Heinrich Gustav. 1876. Linnaea 41: 63 ] Its closest relative is Clematepistephium,Cameron, K. M. (2009) On the Value of Nuclear and Mitochondrial Gene Sequences for Reconstructing the Phylogeny of Vanilloid Orchids (Vanilloideae, Orchidaceae). Annals of Botany 104 (3): 377–85. also endemic to New Caledonia.
