Eugenio Duse (1889–1969)
Early Life and Family Background
Born on 24 January 1889, in Senigallia, Marche, Italy, Eugenio Duse was the son of Luigi Duse and Cecilia Bellotti. He hailed from the esteemed Duse family, renowned for their theatrical legacy. Eugenio's life, however, took a path that intertwined both personal ambition and familial complexities.
Personal Life and Relationships
In the early 1900s, Eugenio married Annina Pieracci, with whom he had two children: Fedora and Edgardo Duse. Fedora, who later went on to marry Vittorio Tonato, named her son Edgardo, in honor of her late brother who tragically died during the war against American forces.
Eugenio's marriage to Annina Pieracci came to an end, and he eventually moved to Bologna with his new wife, leaving behind his first family. This decision marked a significant shift in his personal life, creating an emotional and physical distance from his children and first wife.
