Eupithecia gueneata is a moth in the family Geometridae. It is found in most of southern and eastern Europe, as well as the Near East and North Africa.[https://web.archive.org/web/20160305201835/http://www.faunaeur.org/full_results.php?id=444901 Fauna Europaea]
The wingspan is about 20 mm.[http://www.lepiforum.de/cgi-bin/lepiwiki.pl?Eupithecia_gueneata Lepiforum.de] Adults are on wing from the end of June to mid August.
The larvae feed on various Apiaceae species, including Peucedanum species (including Peucedanum oreoselinum) and Pimpinella saxifraga.[http://www.euroleps.ch/seiten/s_art.php?art=geo_gueneata Euroleps.ch] Larvae can be found from July to October.
