This species is restricted to the Society Islands, Line Islands and Tuamotu Archipelago, records elsewhere are thought to refer to misidentifications of Eviota guttata, a very similar species to E. albolineata.{{FishBase|Eviota|albolineata|month=June|year=2018}}
