History
Elva came close to rising to the top-division Meistriliiga for the first time following their successful 2022 season, but they lost in the promotion play-offs to TJK Legion.{{Cite web|url=https://soccernet.ee/artikkel/vaata-jarele-elva-voitis-mangu-aga-legion-korgliigakoha|title=VAATA JÄRELE: Elva võitis mängu, aga Legion kõrgliigakoha|date=November 27, 2022|website=Soccernet.ee - Jalgpall luubi all!}} A month later Legion had to renounce their league spot due to financial trouble. According to the rules Legion's place was given to Pärnu Vaprus, who finished the season last behind Legion.{{Cite web|url=https://sport.err.ee/1608829750/legion-otsustas-premium-liigast-loobuda-korgeimal-tasemel-jatkab-parnu|title=Legion otsustas Premium liigast loobuda, kõrgeimal tasemel jätkab Pärnu|date=December 23, 2022|website=ERR}}
