Fms-related tyrosine kinase 4, also known as FLT4, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the FLT4 gene.{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: FLT4 fms-related tyrosine kinase 4| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=2324}}{{cite journal | vauthors = Galland F, Karamysheva A, Mattei MG, Rosnet O, Marchetto S, Birnbaum D | title = Chromosomal localization of FLT4, a novel receptor-type tyrosine kinase gene | journal = Genomics | volume = 13 | issue = 2 | pages = 475–8 | date = June 1992 | pmid = 1319394 | doi = 10.1016/0888-7543(92)90277-Y }}

This gene encodes a tyrosine kinase receptor for vascular endothelial growth factors C and D. The protein is thought to be involved in lymphangiogenesis and maintenance of the lymphatic endothelium. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary lymphedema type IA.

Interactions

FLT4 has been shown to interact with SHC1.{{cite journal | vauthors = Pajusola K, Aprelikova O, Pelicci G, Weich H, Claesson-Welsh L, Alitalo K | title = Signalling properties of FLT4, a proteolytically processed receptor tyrosine kinase related to two VEGF receptors | journal = Oncogene | volume = 9 | issue = 12 | pages = 3545–55 | date = December 1994 | pmid = 7970715 }}{{cite journal | vauthors = Fournier E, Blaikie P, Rosnet O, Margolis B, Birnbaum D, Borg JP | title = Role of tyrosine residues and protein interaction domains of SHC adaptor in VEGF receptor 3 signaling | journal = Oncogene | volume = 18 | issue = 2 | pages = 507–14 | date = January 1999 | pmid = 9927207 | doi = 10.1038/sj.onc.1202315 | doi-access = free }}{{cite journal | vauthors = Fournier E, Rosnet O, Marchetto S, Turck CW, Rottapel R, Pelicci PG, Birnbaum D, Borg JP | title = Interaction with the phosphotyrosine binding domain/phosphotyrosine interacting domain of SHC is required for the transforming activity of the FLT4/VEGFR3 receptor tyrosine kinase | journal = The Journal of Biological Chemistry | volume = 271 | issue = 22 | pages = 12956–63 | date = May 1996 | pmid = 8662748 | doi = 10.1074/jbc.271.22.12956 | doi-access = free }}
