Depreciation

From 1862, the falus was allowed to float, while the exchange rate for the silver dirham was fixed: this resulted in currency speculation and depreciation, with effectively two parallel currencies.{{cite book |title=Morocco since 1830: A History |last=Pennell|first=C.R. |year=2001 |publisher= New York University Press |location= New York|isbn= 0-8147-6677-3 |pages=79–80 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=QtBazz0I7uYC&q=morocco+coin+silver+depeciation+speculation&pg=PA80}}
