Critical reception
The song received critical acclaim from music critics. Complex{{'}}s Eric Skelton considered it the best song from Utopia, while Ecleen Luzmila Caraballo considered it one of the best.{{cite web |last1=McKinney |first1=Jessica |last2=Caraballo |first2=Ecleen Luzmila |last3=Skelton |first3=Eric |last4=Rose |first4=Jordan |last5=Breskin |first5=Stefan |last6=Destefano |first6=Mike |last7=Felderstein |first7=Ben |title=First Impressions Of Travis Scott's New Album 'Utopia' |url=https://www.complex.com/music/a/j-mckinney/first-impressions-travis-scott-utopia-review |website=Complex |access-date=16 August 2023 |date=July 28, 2023}} Variety{{'}}s Yousef Srour and Jem Aswad praised the collaborations in Utopia, citing Playboi Carti's "new, Atlanta trap-inspired flow" in the song as an example. Andre Gee of Rolling Stone commented the song has "the kind of beat that's good enough for Playboi Carti to repeat himself 182 times over."{{cite magazine |last1=Gee |first1=Andre |title=Travis Scott's 'Utopia' Is an Empty Paradise |url=https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/travis-scott-utopia-review-1234797544/ |magazine=Rolling Stone |access-date=10 August 2023 |date=July 31, 2023}} Desmond Leake of Paste wrote it "gives us a nice insight into the reclusive rapper's new sound, featuring the addictive refrain of 'Fein Fein' throughout the entire track."
Pitchfork{{'}}s Alphonse Pierre wrote that the song's beat is "played-out, but Playboi Carti's new vocal trick (sounding like he has bronchitis) soaks up the attention and just lets Travis do a bunch of ad-libbing." Similarly, Paul Attard of Slant Magazine stated that "'Fe!n,' despite its straight-up hallucinatory beat, contains the most dead air of any track here (as well as the worst guest spot in Playboi Carti, who sounds like he's suffering from bronchitis)."{{cite web|url=https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/travis-scott-utopia-album-review/|title=Travis Scott 'Utopia' Review: A Bumpy but Exhilarating Ride|website=Slant Magazine|last=Attard|first=Paul|date=July 31, 2023|access-date=August 1, 2023}} Nathan Evans of NME pointed out that Scott's line in the song "I've been focused on the future, never on right now" "exposes the fallacy" of Utopia, adding "By going back to the sound of his early work, Scott steps back into the gargantuan shadow of his mentor." Aron A. of HotNewHipHop said that Playboi Carti does not add anything exciting to the track, and despite his new style "the song itself isn't as memorable as the credits would otherwise suggest."{{cite web |last1=A. |first1=Aron |title=Travis Scott "Utopia" Review |url=https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/700025-travis-scott-utopia-review |website=HotNewHipHop |access-date=11 August 2023 |date=August 2, 2023}}

Grammy performance
Scott performed "My Eyes", "I Know ?", and "Fein" with Carti at the 66th Grammy Awards on February 4, 2024. During the performance of "Fein", he shouted "They slept on me 10 times!" before later throwing the microphone and chairs around, referencing the 10 times he had been nominated for a Grammy and lost, including that year's Best Rap Album, to which Utopia was nominated for but lost to Killer Mike's Michael.{{Cite web |date=2024-02-05 |title=Travis Scott Seems to Throw Fit During Grammys Performance After Latest Loss |url=https://www.tmz.com/2024/02/05/travis-scott-rage-grammys-performance-no-wins-slept-on-me-10-times/ |access-date=2025-02-06 |website=TMZ |language=en}}{{Cite web |title=Travis Scott Says Scoring 10 Grammy Nominations and No Wi... |url=https://www.complex.com/music/a/cmplxtara-mahadevan/travis-scott-10-grammy-nominations-no-wins-gets-rough |access-date=2025-02-06 |website=Complex |language=en}}{{Cite web |last=Cummings-Grady |first=Mackenzie Cummings-GradyMackenzie |date=2024-04-18 |title=Travis Scott Discusses His Frustrations Over Not Winning a Grammy |url=https://www.xxlmag.com/travis-scott-grammy-snubs/ |access-date=2025-02-06 |website=XXL Mag |language=en}}
