Description

The plant is {{convert|40|–|80|cm|abbr=on}} tall and have 2-3 nodes. Leaf sheaths have a hairy base while the leaf blades are flat, {{convert|7|–|20|cm|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|2.5|–|3.8|mm|abbr=on}} broad. They also carry 13-17 veins and have a {{convert|0.2|–|0.5|mm|abbr=on}} long and ciliolate ligule. Its panicle is {{convert|15|–|20|cm|abbr=on}} long with branches diameter being {{convert|4|–|13|cm|abbr=on}}. The species carry three to 4 (sometimes even 5) florets which are located on {{convert|7|–|9|mm|abbr=on}} long spikelets. The glumes are both ovate and are {{convert|2.2|–|3|mm|abbr=on}} (sometimes {{convert|4|mm|abbr=on}}) long. Its rachilla is {{convert|0.9|–|1.1|mm|abbr=on}} long while the lemmas are {{convert|4.8|–|7|mm|abbr=on}} and are smooth. It palea have smooth keels while the awns are {{convert|5|–|10|mm|abbr=on}} long (exceeding sometimes up to {{convert|12|mm|abbr=on}}). The stamens are {{convert|0.7|–|1.1|mm|abbr=on}} but can sometimes reach up to {{convert|1.5|mm|abbr=on}}. It ovary have a pubescent apex with both the flowering and fruit time from April to July.
