Fibonacci Quartet

The Fibonacci Quartet is an international string quartet ensemble, comprising players of Czech, Belgian, Welsh and Scottish nationalities.
History
The Fibonacci Quartet was formed in 2019 and consists of students of David Takeno (Eugène Ysaÿe International Chair of Violin), Matthew Jones, and Louise Hopkins at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, UK.
In March 2020 the quartet won both 1st prize and audience prize at the Beethoven Competition for Young Musicians in London. In December 2021 they won the First Prize at the International "Triomphe de l’Art" Chamber Music Competition in Brussels, as well as the "Peermusic, Hambourg" Special Prize and the "International Association Dimitri Chostakovich, Paris" Special Prize.
In 2022, Elliot Kempton succeeded Ami-Louise Johnsson as viola player in the quartet.{{cn|date=March 2025}}
From September 2022-2023 they studied with Günter Pichler at the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid, part of the Escuela Superior De Musica Reina Sofia.
In November 2023, Findlay Spence replaced Kosta Popović as cellist in the quartet.
In 2024 they were selected to receive support from the Young Classical Artists Trust. The same year, they won both First prize and audience prize at the International String Quartet Competition Premio Paolo Borciani, Italy.
