South Sudan again

According to the latest figures by the Pew Research Forum from [http://features.pewforum.org/grl/population-percentage.php December 2012], in 2010, Christians were 60.5% of South Sudan’s population and African tribal religion follows are 32.9%. This might suggest that South Sudan is a majority Christian state, I think. I wonder if the map needs to be updated. In a separate section of their report [http://www.pewforum.org/global-religious-landscape-exec.aspx Here] Pew has a map which colours South Sudan light red to show that it is a slightly majority Christian country. --Leoboudv (talk) 08:50, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

:;A note on Russia

:There is no official census of religion in Russia, and estimates are based on surveys only. In August 2012, [http://sreda.org/arena ARENA] determined that about 46.8% of Russians are Christians (including Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, and non-denominational), which is slightly less than an absolute 50%+ majority. However, later that year the [http://www.levada.ru/17-12-2012/v-rossii-74-pravoslavnykh-i-7-musulman Levada Center] determined that 76% of Russians are Christians, and in June 2013 the [http://fom.ru/obshchestvo/10953 Public Opinion Foundation] determined that 65% of Russians are Christians. These findings are in line with [http://www.pewforum.org/2011/12/19/global-christianity-exec/ Pew]'s 2011 survey, which determined that 73.6% of Russians are Christians, with [http://wciom.ru/index.php?id=268&uid=13365 VTSIOM]'s 2010 survey (~77% Christian), and with [http://www.fgi-tbff.org/sites/default/files/elfinder/FGIImages/Research/fromresearchtopolicy/ipsos_mori_briefing_pack.pdf#page=40 Ipsos MORI]'s 2011 survey (69%). Although it may be that the majority of Russians identify with Orthodox Christianity only on the basis of national identity and are not particularly devout, nevertheless the majority of surveys find that Russia is a Christian majority nation. --50.46.245.232 (talk) 07:08, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
