Flavorwire was a New York City-based online culture magazine. The site includes original feature articles, interviews, reviews, as well as content recycled from other sources. Flavorwire describes themselves as "a network of culturally connected people, covering events, art, books, music, film, TV, and pop culture the world over. Highbrow, lowbrow, and everything in between: if it's compelling we're talking about it." Flavorwire was created by Flavorpill Media.{{cite news|title=Flavorwire|url=http://www.pw.org/review_outlets/flavorwire|access-date=July 7, 2016|work=Poets and Writers}}

History

According to Flavorwire editorial director Elizabeth Spiers, Flavorwire "was originally designed to complement Flavorpill's events business and event-driven email newsletters. For a long time, it had no real web publication." In 2014 Flavorpill began to grow and add more original content.{{cite web|url=http://www.capitalnewyork.com/article/media/2014/09/8551810/60-second-interview-elizabeth-spiers-editorial-director-flavorwire|title=60 Second Interview with Elizabeth Spiers, Editorial Director of Flavorwire|work=Capital New York|date=September 3, 2014}} In 2018, Flavorpill was acquired by Bustle Digital Group.{{Cite web| title = As Publishers Build Experiential Events, Bustle Digital Group's Newest Acquisition Will Help It Compete| access-date = 2019-07-06| url = https://www.adweek.com/tv-video/as-publishers-build-experiential-events-bustle-digital-groups-newest-acquisition-will-help-it-compete/}}
