Fonchiiichthys is a small genus of catfish from Central and South America. It is often considered to be monotypic, containing only F. uracanthus.
Fonchiiichthys has recently been considered invalid, having been synonymised with Rineloricaria, along with Ixinandria, Hemiloricaria, and Leliella.{{cite journal|author=Raphaël Covain| author2=Sonia Fisch-Muller| author3= Claudio Oliveira| author4= Jan H Mol| author5= Juan I Montoya-Burgos| author6= Stéphane Dray| journal=Mol Phylogenet Evol|date=Jan 2016|volume=94|issue=(Pt B)|pages=492-517|doi=10.1016/j.ympev.2015.10.018|title=Molecular phylogeny of the highly diversified catfish subfamily Loricariinae (Siluriformes, Loricariidae) reveals incongruences with morphological classification|PMID=26516029}} However, FishBase still considers Fonchiiichthys and Ixinandria as valid.
