Forano is a {{lang|it|comune}} (municipality) in the province of Rieti, in the Italian region of Latium, located about {{convert|45|km|mi}} north of Rome and about {{convert|25|km|mi}} southwest of Rieti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,697 and an area of {{convert|17.5|km2|mi2}}.All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.
Forano borders the following municipalities: Cantalupo in Sabina, Filacciano, Poggio Catino, Poggio Mirteto, Ponzano Romano, Selci, Stimigliano, Tarano.
