Swimming career

Walker is best known for winning the silver medal in the Men's 200 m Individual Medley at the inaugural 1993 FINA Short Course World Championships in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, behind Germany's Christian Keller. In 1993, he became the first ever British swimmer to break the two-minute barrier for the 200 m individual medley with a time of 1 minute 58.35 at the World Championships in Palma De Mallorca.
