=Formation and development=

In January 2010, the ACP was formed by executive order through the merger of the Banking Commission, ACAM, and CECEI.{{cite web|url=http://www.banque-france.fr/acp/presentation-de-l-acp/201012-ACP-Overview.pdf |title=The ACP an overview |publisher=banque de france |date=17 December 2010 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110124193056/http://www.banque-france.fr/acp/presentation-de-l-acp/201012-ACP-Overview.pdf |archive-date=January 24, 2011 }}

A new executive order in July 2013 granted it resolution authority, in the context of the formation of the European Single Resolution Mechanism, and correspondingly changed its name from ACP to ACPR.{{cite web |url=https://acpr.banque-france.fr/lacpr/presentation/historique-de-lacpr |website=Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution |title=Historique de l'ACPR}}

In 2017, the ACPR lost its previous status of independent administrative authority (Article 24 of Law 2017-55 of 20 January 2017),{{cite web |website=Légifrance |url=https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000033897475 |title=Loi n° 2017-55 du 20 janvier 2017 portant statut général des autorités administratives indépendantes et des autorités publiques indépendantes}} and thus became more directly integrated into the Bank of France.

From July 2020 to April 2021, the ACPR conducted the first assessment of financial risks resulting from climate change,{{Cite news|language=fr|title=" Le paysage actuel de l'assurance pourrait connaître un bouleversement complet face au risque climatique "|periodical=Le Monde.fr|date=2021-05-19|url=https://www.lemonde.fr/idees/article/2021/05/19/le-paysage-actuel-de-l-assurance-pourrait-connaitre-un-bouleversement-complet-face-au-risque-climatique_6080757_3232.html|access-date=2021-05-19}} which included 22 insurance organizations and 9 banking groups.{{cite web|access-date=2021-05-19|language=fr-FR|last=lassurenmouv|title=Résultats de l'exercice pilote climatique 2020 {{!}}|url=https://www.lassuranceenmouvement.com/2021/05/19/resultats-de-lexercice-pilote-climatique-2020/}}

It occasionally launches public consultations on different issues, as was the case in 2013, when it drafted the regulations for crowdfunding following a public consultation launched alongside the Autorité des marchés financiers and the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance.{{Cite web|url=https://www.amf-france.org/en_US/Actualites/Communiques-de-presse/AMF/annee_2013?docId=workspace://SpacesStore/b8576b9f-d316-4dab-a915-a635342bd47a|title=The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) have launched a public consultation on crowdfunding|date=5 November 2013|website=AMF|language=en-US|access-date=6 December 2019}}
