Galathée (or Galatée) {{sfnp|Roche|2005|p=219}}{{sfnp|Monaque|2000|p=35}} was a 32-gun frigate of the French Navy, lead ship of her class.
Career
In February 1780, Galathée escorted convoys in the Bay of Biscay, along with {{ship|French frigate|Hermione|1779|2}}.{{sfnp|Monaque|2000|p=35}}
Galathée took part in the Naval operations in the American Revolutionary War, taking part in the capture of Sint Eustatius and to the Battle of the Saintes.{{sfnp|Roche|2005|p=219}}{{sfnp|Troude|1867|p=141}}

During the French Revolution, she took part in the Combat du 13 prairial, where she took {{ship|French ship|Terrible|1779|2}} in tow, under fire, preventing her capture by the British. {{sfnp|Roche|2005|p=219}}
