Friesack ({{IPA|de|ˈfʁiːˌzak|-|De-Friesack.ogg}}; also Friesack/Mark) is a town in the Havelland district, in Brandenburg, in north-eastern Germany. It is situated {{convert|22|km|abbr=on}} northeast of Rathenow, and {{convert|25|km|abbr=on}} southwest of Neuruppin. It is known for its Mesolithic archaeological site.
History
During World War II, in September 1943, the Oflag 8 prisoner-of-war camp was relocated from Frauenberg to Wutzetz, present-day district of Friesack.{{cite book|last1=Megargee|first1=Geoffrey P.|last2=Overmans|first2=Rüdiger|last3=Vogt|first3=Wolfgang|year=2022|title=The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Encyclopedia of Camps and Ghettos 1933–1945.
