Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor subunit theta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GABRQ gene.{{cite journal |vauthors=Sinkkonen ST, Hanna MC, Kirkness EF, Korpi ER | title = GABA(A) receptor epsilon and theta subunits display unusual structural variation between species and are enriched in the rat locus ceruleus | journal = J. The θ subunit has highest sequence similarity with the β1 subunit. This subunit coassembles with:
- α2, β1, and γ1
- α3 and β1{{cite journal |vauthors=Ranna M, Sinkkonen ST, Möykkynen T, Uusi-Oukari M, Korpi ER | title = Impact of ε and θ subunits on pharmacological properties of α3β1 GABAA receptors expressed in Xenopus oocytes | journal = BMC Pharmacol. | volume = 6| pages = 1 | year = 2006 | pmid = 16412217 | pmc = 1363348 | doi = 10.1186/1471-2210-6-1 | doi-access = free }}
