GEN Corporation of Japan developed a personal helicopter named the GEN H-4, but production was deferred pending large enough orders to make the aircraft economical.Bayerl, Robby; Martin Berkemeier; et al: World Directory of Leisure Aviation 2011-12, pages 191 and 238-239. The company also developed the GEN 125, a very small {{convert|8|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}}, twin-cylinder, two-stroke aircraft engine to power the H-4. The engine weighs {{convert|3|kg|lb|1|abbr=on}} and four are used in the H-4 design to provide redundancy.

The company does not have any fixed location, but has carried out its development work in borrowed facilities.{{cite web|url=http://www.gen-corp.jp/company/categories/c1.html|title=GEN H-4 一人乗りヘリコプタのGEN CORPORATION - 会社概要|work=gen-corp.jp|accessdate=14 July 2015}}
